Monitoring and Enforcement Partner

Besides working to protect land, GTAP and MDK field teams monitor remote forests daily in and outside the NNNP collecting standardized information on the presence or absence of illegal activities. Our timely observations and prompt communications act as a force multiplier in the protection of wildlife and the forests on which they rely. Illegal activities detected are reported to Wildlife Conservation Society protected area managers. To better understand the relationship between human population centers, roads and illegal poaching GTAP collaborates with scientists using artificial intelligence (AI) to predict future illegal poaching hot-spots.
